What is tempeh? A fermented whole soy beans originating in Indonesia.
Its texture makes it an excellent vegan substitute for hearty dishes like burgers, sloppy joes, and anything else that has a "chew" to it.
Tempeh is a probiotic food, meaning that it contains healthy bacteria that are beneficial to our digestive system. The primary probiotic in tempeh is Rhizopus Oryzae culture. Eating diverse, probiotic foods has been associated with having a healthy digestive track.
