La Lomita was founded in 2009 by Fernando Prez Castro. The winery and its estate vineyards are located in Valle de Guadalupe - mid valley, northwestern facing slope in the ejido of Francisco Zarco about 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Grapes for all wines are estate sourced with the exception of those for Discreto Encanto, which are sourced from select sites in the valleys of Santo Tomas and San Vicente. Their estate has 17 acres under vine. The estate has practiced organic viticulture since 2012. Head wine maker Gustavo Gonzales, was the head wine maker for Italy's famous Super Tuscan "Sassicaia" during the early 2000 vintages. Their estate vineyard of Grenache is over 60 years old and their wines have graced some of the most prestigious wine lists in the country.
